I Need Your Help! Let’s Publish a Book Together!

Hello everyone,

I’m going to finally use social media – and, subsequently, the rest of the internet – for what it is intended for: true social networking. How is that? I am going to pool my resources and see if I can make this happen.

Traditional publishing is not proving to be the most productive route for most authors, and the same is true for me at this point. I am determined to make my own mark, however. I have been attempting to publish my first novel, Teddy, for the past year, but after multiple attempts to secure either a literary agent or find a publishing house, I have decided to self-publish.

I refuse to utilize a subsidy publisher or vanity publishing house. I will not pay for a company to publish my book and make all the profits from it.

My plan is this: I will publish the book as I have my poetry books. However, I am looking for a far more professional book cover design; therefore, I need to secure some means to create the book cover either on my own, with help from friends, or hire an artist. Also, I need to market the book.

This is where you, my friends, come in. More than anything, I need the news to spread. Word of mouth is where a lot of my marketing is going to come in.

If any of you have any knowledge regarding marketing, have websites, and so forth, I need your help.

I am also considering starting a Kickstarter for the marketing and production of the book. I need all the help and support I can get.

This is my dream. Most of you have known me for years and know I have been wanting to make a career as a writer since I was a kid. Help me make this happen. Together, we can make history.

Whatever you can do to help me, let me know. If you know people, please help me network.

For those of you who do not know, Teddy is the story of a young man with a medical condition for which no doctor has a name or an explanation: in order to sleep, he must inadvertently steal the dreams of those around him, thus afflicting them with insomnia. Subjected to these psychic visions, Teddy encounters evil at every turn and is compelled to do everything within his power to fight these horrors. However, he is about to encounter a force unlike any he has seen before, a force that will change his life forever.
